• Research interests: One-dimensional van der Waals materials: discovering and synthesizing various one-dimensional van der Waals materials in the reduced-dimension structures, even in the few-to-single chain limit using the cavity of carbon and boron nitride nanotubes as the nano-reactors and protective encapsulation. Quantum nanowires and their heterostructures: understanding of the quantum nanowires at the atomic level indeed will determine their quantum properties and applications at a larger scale.
